"It was a fantastic year for music fans or, more precisely, a fantastic summer, because thanks to the Malta Foundation and the Poznań City Hall, we had the opportunity to see, at very short intervals from one another, some groups which are already legendary, albeit still light years away from their artistic retirement." With these words Michał Danielewski of Gazeta Wyborcza Poznań summarised the concerts of 2009 in Poznań. He specifically referred to the concerts of Nine Inch Nails and Jane's Addiction during the Malta Festival as events of major importance, whilst he described Radiohead's show in August as "a cosmic two hours."
