Concert of the decade! Radiohead played OK

Late at night Radiohead appeared on stage at the Cytadela Park in Poznań making over 30 thousand viewers ecstatic. It has been a very long time since Poznań (not to mention whole of Poland) had seen a concert of such significance.

The rock explosion

Yesterday Radiohead created the rock of tomorrow ... The whole concert was a story of a journey into the heart of darkness, into the abyss of the human soul and the subconscious - orchestrated for rock and electronic instruments, in addition to computers and orgiastic visualisations ... We found ourselves in the centre of the most captivating musical laboratory in the world. Nothing was predictable. Anything could happen. Complete madness. Sometimes you were under the impression that it was Björk on stage, and sometimes Led Zeppelin and Pink Floyd in one manifestation. Because Radiohead takes the best in music, processes it and creates its future.

Radiohead at the Poznań Citadel: adrenaline straight in the heart

These guys should work in an emergency room: the mood swings which they provided to the 35,000 viewers were like adrenaline shots straight in the heart ... The three last pieces reconciled everyone: the rhythmical Reckoner changed into the reflective Lucky, and when the first bars of Creep were heard some fans started... crying. At that moment they had been given more than they could have dreamt of. "I don't have to wait for Pink Floyd, now," one of the viewers said when asked for his comments about the concert. And he was not exaggerating.

Radiohead’s fantastic show

The second show of Thom Yorke's band in Poland was one of the major musical events of the year ... The musicians from Radiohead did not let their fans down: Thom Yorke & Co. proved that they are in excellent form.

The masters of the alternative played in Poznań

Polish fans waited for this moment for 15 years. Last night, at the Cytadela Park in Poznań, Radiohead played a fantastic concert for an audience of over 30 thousand people ... We heard Street Spirit (Fade Out), Paranoid Android and Karma Police. When the crowd sang the latter song together with Thom Yorke it became obvious that we were witnessing the concert of the decade. The stirring, crazy Idioteque only confirmed this.

Thrilling beauty

The group's works with the level of thrilling beauty that could fill numerous albums of other artists are countless. Let's for instance consider "Karma Police", "2+2=5", "Everything In it's right place", "Just" or "Knives out". One cannot resist the impression that "everything is in place here", that Radiohead is a complete group and that live contact with their music cannot be replaced by anything else.

Paradoxically, I get most sentimental when I think of the "I might be wrong" concert album, but that evaluation is only mine and irrational. I'm looking forward to this unoriginally unique Tuesday evening.

Brand new song of Radiohead! They will play it in Poznan

Some admire their ability to overturn set patterns, respect their not giving up to artistic ossification, and spectacular disobedience to the rules of commercialized pop culture of our times. Others adore emotions hidden in Thom York's voice and the group's very intelligent lyrics. Everyone has his own story of "relationship" with Radiohead. The group is perceived differently by those who fell deeply in love with them after having heard "Creep" song, and differently by those thrilled with "OK Computer" album. Radiohead are loved both by amateurs of nice and original guitar songs, and by the authors of nutty experimental electronic music. The range clearly expresses the impact Radiohead has on modern pop culture.

August crops on the Polish scenes

Though the first weeks of August are marked by festivals, the end of summer holidays will belong to only one group. In the last few years they have been winning all possible rankings of music groups that Polish fans would like to see in their country. Up to now, the group visited Poland only once. It was so long ago that hardly anyone heard of them, and only a few saw them. Today Radiohead is an icon of rock music, and many critics consider their "OK Computer" record as album of all times. For a long time they have passed our country by in their concert tours (...) Today Radiohead are real old hands at giving concerts. No matter what they play, they always do it in a brilliant way. Therefore we can surely say that on 25th August Poznan will rock in the rhythm of "Paranoid Android".

The Miracle at the Warta

It's a fact! The most superb group in the world (OK, one of the most superb groups) is eventually coming to Poland. We have waited for that day more than exemplary Catholics are waiting for their wedding night. The group, known for their care of the purity of natural environment, confirm the purity of their intentions with almost every step they take. LED lights instead of traditional bulbs, hybrid vehicles instead of trucks on fuel, water points instead of thousands of plastic bottles - these are only a few ideas of making good. Apart from music, of course. Think how you can join their idols' pro-ecological actions. And don't forget to turn off the lights, before you go out to the concert!

Concert of Radiohead (second time in Poland)

Great concerts (...), superb albums, no scandals of ethical nature. They have never destroyed anything, nor beaten anyone, there are no notices of their drunken antics.

The Malta Foundation who invited Radiohead to Poznan, had to use more than only a case full of money and a signboard "Poznan for the Earth". A big advantage of the Cytadela Part, the place where the concert is going to be held, is that you can easily get there by means of public transport - a bus or tram. The meals for the team and the group will be served in biodegradable food containers and energy generators will be running on biofuel producing fewer harmful emissions during combustion.
