At the turn of the new millennium, Random Rhodes, Steve Bass and Groovemaster 7 began composing together in a studio in Berlin and this is also when they started playing their fi rst concerts as YE: SOLAR. Their aim is to play improv music and creating their original repertoire with one artistic vision - combining background jazz, deep house and electro. This is why their music off ers absolutely extreme genres, ranging from electrojazz to punkjazz! In 2007, Ye:Solar were nominated for World Wide Winners Award on BBC RadioOne. They gained further renown thanks to cooperation with cult DJ collective - Jazzanova. In concert Ye:Solar remains, however, a volcano of energy. They serve a compilation of jazz, electronic music, hip hop and dub. Percussion, rhodes and double bass combined with DJ's mixing and scratching produce an explosive mixture. Group's image, resembling Tarantino's and 1960s gangster movies, also catches the eye.
